"For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me."

Matthew 5:35-36, NAS

"'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'"

Matthew 5:40, NAS

As we start into the Fall, the Holidays are just around the corner, and with the season come many opportunities to reach out to others with the love of Christ. We encourage you to look for ways to be generous to someone in need, to minister to someone outside of your social network, and to share the love of Christ to those who need Him.

Here are a few opportunities to get you started:

1. Fill an Operation Christmas Child shoe box.
You'll probably never meet the child who receives it, but this simple act of love can bless someone in need on the other side of the planet. Pick up a brochure in the Gathering Place. Shoe boxes are due back on October 25.

2. Give to the Oliver Gospel Mission Offering.

Oliver Gospel Mission helps struggling men get back on their feet. We take up this offering each year to support this ministry's Thanksgiving baskets: baskets filled with everything needed for a Thanksgiving meal and given to families in need. Your opportunity to give is November 8.

3. Provide a gift for Angel Tree.
Angel Tree is a ministry of Prison Fellowship. Through you, they provide children of prisoners with Christmas gifts sent in their parent's name. You can make a child's Christmas wish come true. Pick up an angel with a child's name on Sunday, November 22. Gifts are due December 13.

These are just opportunities Shandon is offering, but there are so many more. Contribute your ideas for feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and visiting the sick and imprisoned.
